Expose=reveal?

Hi there

I am so confused about the usage of the term expose, as it is made clear in dictionary it is synoymous with reveal? Can they be used totally interchangably? E.g The report reveals the company made a loss of ￡20 million last year = The report exposes the company made a loss of ￡20 million last year? Could anyone throw some light on it? Any reply would be appreciated.
