Ender 5 Pro extruder skipping due to third-party cable

So I converted my ender 5 pro to direct drive and it needed longer stepper cables. I bought these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B083DVQ9MD/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

and the extruder doesn't move, it just clicks, I used a stock creality cable which worked fine and the stepper driver for the extruder is fine. I measured the resistance of the new cable which was 1-2 ohms which seems fine. Any suggestions? I want to avoid buying new cables.
