MTH 2205 Mohammed Sabha
This post is a review of my 2020 spring semester MTH 2205 class. I took MTH 2205 - Precalculus and Elements of Calculus 1B with Professor Mohammed Sabha. Professor Sabha is a great professor in person and online. The first half of the semester was in person and he was able to explain the material effectively by making his lesson clear which made note taking easy. The lectures are long but he throws a few jokes in. You don’t have to participate in this class but if you do even better. One minor issue I had with him was his handwriting but he corrects it if you point it out to him. He gives pop quizzes each week which are short and easy. The exams aren’t hard but you should read over your notes before the exam. He does take the homework seriously by making the homework weekly when the overall class exams are bad. Although, he did give extensions for the homework. Also, the homework come from pearson's mymathlab which range from easy to normal. The second half of the semester was better than I expected. When the rest of spring semester was moved to online, I was worried about this class the most because of its reputation of the final being difficult. But I was mostly wrong since he was really able to pull through by teaching the material and communicating with the class almost on the same level as in person. He was able to teach the material to the class and answered questions during zoom sessions. He usually kept around after the lesson to answer students' questions about what’s going on. He also kept the class updated about the final through emails and did review sessions. I passed the MTH 2205 final thanks to him. I would recommend anyone looking for a great and active MTH 2205 professor to take him.
TLDR: He’s great both in person and online. Clear lectures and lessons making note taking easy. Easy weekly pop quizzes and manageable exams. Very accessible.
