A Commander Deck That Makes Players Want to Add One With Nothing to Their Deck (Update)
Deck List: http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/youll-wish-you-had-one-with-nothing/
About three months ago I created a post here sharing a deck build that focused on dealing damage to opponents equal to the number of cards in their hand, here is a link to the original post here.
The first version of the deck, while fun, seemed very slow and all over the place. I retired the deck, set all the cards aside, and I waited until a new commander came along. And there she came [[Xyris, the Writhing Storm]], I knew immediately that this would be an amazing commander to pilot this theme.
The goal of this deck remains the same. It is to punish opponents for having cards in their hands in as many ways as possible and to get players at the table to say "man... I wish I had [[One With Nothing]]".
I have now added way more Spell Slinging cards, Wheels, and X spells + X spell interaction. I wanted this deck to be original and something I could call mine, so I avoided a lot of the Snake Tribal cards like [[Seshiro the Anointed]] and all of the "when a creature enters the battlefield" cards like [[Impact Tremors]] and [[Purphoros, God of the Forge]] because god knows, everyone will be using those cards, which will ultimately make Xyris boring to play against for all of us.
Essentially, once you get [[Phyrexian Altar]] and [[Xyris, the Writhing Storm]] on board, it's pretty much gg when if you're able to cast either [[Fascination]], [[Prosperity]], or [[Skyscribing]] (all the wheels will help you find them). You pretty much take over. Especially if [[Unbound Flourishing]] is in play. After that Just cast [[Storm Seeker]] and copy it like 20 times with all the cards in your hand, by using what seems like infinite mana.
I hope you like the deck! Please comment if you have any reasonably priced card addition ideas! Thank you.
