Too much shedding?

Hey all,

New Newfie owner here. Kali my 2.5 year old Newfie is blowing out for the first time this spring. I’m brushing her with a slicker brush daily to keep the hair in my house to a minimum but I’m worried. Her back toward her butt is getting pretty thin. No bald spots but she feels wirey and thread bare back there. There is some dandruff too. I’ve made a vet appointment for Monday as she was due anyway but.. is this normal? I’m used to her being so fluffy.
