In the following situation, who is the last Mafia?
Bit of a story attached (actual events) so maybe the flair could be changed, but it is meant to be a question of what you would deduce.
It starts from D2 with a bold Investigator claim that saves a Townie from the grips of someone that they say fits the Executioner results. Town swivels and hangs this loathsome meddling Executioner! Only to find it is in fact a Jester.
The game goes on and this "Investigator" grows rather silent as town is killed off one-by-one and you, the Retributionist, brings back the Jailor resulting in six people stepping into their homes for the night:
The confirmed Retributionist.
The revealed Mayor.
The resurrected Jailor.
The Investigator claim.
The Transporter claim.
One silent dude.
Day downs and the Jailor lies dead, the Jailor imprisoned either the Investigator, the Transporter or the Mayor; for the silent is lynched and revealed to be the Mafioso, and when the next day dawns the Mayor is dead as well.
So! You have two claims.
The first is the Investigator who has few results except for N1 and N3, who has claimed to be roleblocked every single night and suddenly tells you that the Transporter is in fact "Vig/Vet/Maf".
The other is the Transporter, confirmed by many townies and with a complete will even as the Hypnotists lie plain for all to see in the graveyard, asking only that you let them carry if you cannot decide between the two.
The Transporter says that the Investigator is Consiglere-turned-Mafioso.
The Investigator says that the Transporter is Consort-turned-Mafioso.
You know that claiming roleblocked as Consig-turned-Maf is a way to cloak being promoted, but also that the Transporter has only been swapping themselves since the first Hypnotist died (even though this is often reasonable for a Transporter without a better target, especially since you know that either the Investigator or the Transporter was jailed when the Jailor died and unable to help).
Which do you vote to the stand and why?
