Trying to remember a specific type of figure from the late 2000s!

Hi so I've been trying to find a few figures from my childhood that were not your average gi joe. I recall these guy being shorter than an original, but taller than a normal action figure. I also remember these guys being DENSE as hell and having a lot of points of articulation. I owned a shirtless ninja with I believe a wolf and then a soldier who might've been native that came with a snake. They were very stylized in their design and proportion. I haven't been able to find them anywhere but I was hoping someone might know what I'm talking about here?
