Lenovo Yoga hinges are defective and break through the screen
I've had my Lenovo Yoga 710 for less than 2 1/2 years and had no issues with it until the other day. I use it often but I'm always careful while on the go and take good care of my computer. The other day, I went to shut my computer and heard a "pop." The right hinge where the laptop connects to the screen had come loose and broke clean through my screen. I did some googling because I found this really odd. Turns out, it's been a common and known issue for several years. There are several threads on Lenovo's own support forums with the exact same complaints. Several posters were even covered by a warranty and Lenovo failed to honor it, claiming the users mishandled the product.

I contacted Lenovo myself, not expecting anything because so many others had been turned down. Sure enough, they told me my warranty was up and they could refer me to a local support technician but I'd have to pay for any necessary repairs. I asked if they were aware of this issue and sent many links to their own forums. They said all they could do was refer me to a local support technician.
My purpose in posting is just to bring more attention to this issue and warn others out there. I wouldn't recommend Lenovo for their products or their customers support.
This all being said, does anyone have recommendations for a reliable pc?
