The globalization of literature

DISCUSSION

I am realizing that more and more we read literature from countries that are not our birth place, probably because of the higher conexion from different parts of our world, this is awesome because it allows us to know other cultures, understand them and see our similarities, but I often feel a little bit guilty for not reading to much literature from my home country, which has a large literary tradition, also some eldest people have a very deep knowledge of their own literature but haven't read much abroad literature, and the mandatory book for school are mostly from the same country, what do you think about this stuff, is there a short of nacionalistic protection of home literature in your countries?
