Wonder if she'll get criticized relentlessly for it the same way Abrams was.
Different tone I Think.
Abrams said early in primary season that she didn't want to be anyone's VP cause she would run for President before she would audition for second place , she also did some stuff that seemed a bit weird like saying Biden needs to have a woman of color It was all more forward and around her self/identity where Demings sounds like she wants to have a real crack at the task
Just my read on it, I think Demings wants to do it and contribute and I feel like Abrams thinks she can do it and thinks she deserves it (she might be right ! I dunno!)

That's not what she said at all, she "you don't run for second place" in response to being asked about rumors Biden was going launch his campaign with a pledge to pick her as his VP, but clarified in that same interview that if someone were to pick her down the line, after they became the nominee, she'd be open to it.

Lots of people have been saying he should pick a women of color, but I guess that part is different than what Demmings did here.

I listened to those Abrams interviews where she stated what she would bring to the table as VP and I don't remember her making her identity the center of the conversation at all.

I really don't understand how you got different these impressions, but I guess it's a subjective judgment call.
Stacy Abrams. She is a Washington outsider. And brilliant. Her appearance will give MAGAts hysterics. I've been in media for half a century. She has the right appearance. Especially standing next to Biden. She is tall enough to not be dwarfed. I adore her hair. Yin-yang. A break with the old.
“I adore her hair.” That’s it boys we found our VP!
LOL! I should have expanded that thought. She hasn't straightened it. . She doesn't offer any solace to the white male gaze. She pleases herself, not them.
Why care what MAGA folks think , especially in the negative ? I'd be hoping to take Trump's teensy tiny percentage with minorities of color away via popularity to conservatives of a police chief.
Pissing folks off doesn't help anyone? It might risk an assassination attempt but that's about it.
For me Abrams is too thirsty for the job and wouldn't be ready to run for POTUS in 24
She's my pick and then Harris either would be good.
I want her to stay and challenge either the Governor seat or Senate seat in 2022.
I really like her, but I can't decide if her being a former cop would be a positive or a negative. On one hand, she could be a uniter, "Cops are not all bad people, but I've seen firsthand the systemic issues with our current policing system and here are the changes we could make yadda yadda yadda." On the other, anti-cop sentiment in general could hurt her.
Anti cop sentiment is the far left, and really a minority of people. Plus, she is a black woman who was a cop, it’s hard to accuse her of being racist without looking ridiculous. If we discourage POC from becoming police officers, aren’t we just creating a whites only police force?
Definitely agree. I went to an extremely extremely liberal college so I think i get a skewed view of what the left is actually like from my social media feed
If social media was real life we’d have had Bernie in 2016 and Yang would have swept the primaries.
I’m at UW Madison which is liberal but still Wisconsin, and it’s just the left that are the loudest. It’s the same 20-30 people out of 1000 that are constantly spamming the far left stuff, and it over saturates your feed.
I think it's a net positive
The thing that gives me pause is the KHive folks talking about how Kamala is raising crazy amounts for Joe , more than Hillary
I don't actually know how directly that translates into appeal for the ticket however.
