Late game seablock upgarade 0.16 > 0.17(0.18)
Hi everyone,
Does anyone tried to move very large base from 0.16 seablock(bobs+angels) to newer versions? Any recommendations?
We are playing for around 200h and currently at black cpu. New UX features can greatly improve gameplay (like upgrading belts with a driods, improved toolbelt from 0.17 e.t.c)

Hi. I dont think it is feasible to upgrade from 0.16 to 0.18. I had a 0.16 end game seablock map that I abandoned due to this fact. The biggest issue that you will face is that seablock has changed dramatically, as has bob's and angels. Most of the builds that you have will not work.
Some simple examples are that arboretums are totally different and require saws to make wood. Another example is that the silicon recipes are completely changed.
I think you'd have to stockpile an extraordinarily large amount of resources in warehouses and then stop producing science during the transition. Once you are on the new version you'll have to spend many hours redoing a lot of different systems.
You can try it if you'd like to save your progress, but I'd recommend finishing it out in 0.16 if you are close to finishing (EG working on the last pieces of space-x). If you are just now getting black circuits you may appreciate just jumping over to 0.18 fresh.
I'm a bit biased, I've done a lot of seablock!
I can't imagine I will able to rebuild such base again. Does black circs are far from the end?
I believe the first black circuits are likely going to be the about 66% of the way through your 0.16 seablock. The first rocket launch will happen about 75% of the way through.
This assumes you can very efficiently scale up your base to 500 SPM or so very quickly.
You can try loading your game in 0.18 by downloading a fresh copy of Factorio from factorio.com. Your first task will be to learn and create a new power solution (Your nuclear power may not work).
