All customers and staff at businesses across Jefferson County will be required to wear a mask or other face covering as part of a renewed effort to slow the rapidly spreading coronavirus.

The order by County Judge Jeff Branick takes effect at noon Wednesday [June 24]. It applies to all “commercial entities that provide goods and services directly to the public.”

Business owners who refuse to enforce the provisions face a $1,000 fine per violation.

And here's a PDF of the actual order.

Thanks, I hadn't been able to find the actual order.

This is not going to go well, SO few people here wear masks at all. Man I feel for the business owners on this one.

People are already making a huge deal about it since the news posted. My job has been requiring masks for any service since we reopened (hair salon) and the amount of people complaining about the masks has not gone down but the amount of people leaving in anger over them slowed, hopefully it's mainly tough talk and once people can normalize it into their routine there will be less upset over it. I'm not counting on it being a smooth transition though. Also had a guy leave because he refused to sanitize his hands before signing in, because "they are already too dry". Its been fun.
