This really speaks to me as one who has Free Will vs Determinism issues.

It's very powerful in its brevity. I love that you book ended it with the title - I try to use that to.

Tough subject matter, it's naturally heavy.

A extra couple lines toward the front end could bring the reader in more - by line 4 we're invested.

Lines 2 and 3 are somewhat vague - why not add a location where it aligned (at the office or by the pool, on the dock, among the trees etc) I think that would reduce a bit of the floatyness that the word "simulation" brings to mind.

Thanks for sharing - great stuff

I thought that the mood conveyed, one of soft desperation, looking for sense or any sort of reward for forbearance through the hell that our world can be at times, was very timely considering all of the things going on in the world. I found the idea that we would want to know that there's nothing out there just so that we're not disappointed by the lack of this reward to be devastating. Well done.

I enjoy this, but I think it would hit a little hard if you shortened the lines, maybe choosing key moments in each sentence to put a line break.

The poem feels frustrated, demanding of an answer, you know? Like you are standing before God himself and demanding his attention, his respect. When you use shorter lines the poem tends to move a little faster and hit a little harder. Like a quick 1-2 punch, you know? Knock me out!

I love this poem. As a person who is heavily conflicted myself in regards to the presence of an all powerful diety (mostly because of pressure from family), this really resonates within me.

The major question is, if this is all a test for the next life or if this is truly just the one and only life we have and there never really was a God. I'd like to believe in the former, but the older I get and the more I go through life, the latter really confirms within me.

I loved the rhyme scheme it was slam and page strong

Its really interesting to see how other people interpret this life which we have been given. And honestly I am not sure whether this is your inner psyche speaking but maybe the persona is yearning for an answer (or certain that there is one), but that also causes them pain. At least thats how I interpret this. It was really well written, keep up the good work!

Just remember it’s the little things that matter

You need to hold together when your world seems to shatter

You need to listen for the whispers among the chatter

It’s when you get there just in time

When you’re not the victim of a crime

When theres no reason or rhyme

When he seems just like a mime

That’s when he says the most in the space between time
