I’ve listened to hero for about a month and TEOTG for 9 months, I’m just about tired of both of them and I don’t want to be. Touring won’t happen for at least a year in the current state of things and I preordered the album 9 months ago. It doesn’t need a tour behind it. They can tour OK human when it hopefully comes out next year

Well then Crush has clearly not killed Weezer because there are people foaming at the mouth to get the new record. Maybe they will release it without a tour, but I seriously doubt it. I guess we gonna know when we know.

There is definitely a lot less people waiting for this album now then there was when it was announced. The only people left are the hardcore fans more or less

Oh, you weren’t on the last IITZ? Rivers had a friend from college on the panel & she’s working on her PhD in mycology (study of fungus). Her thesis is about a new pesticide resistant fungus that’s wiping out banana crops. I thought the conversation was really interesting but others weren’t as intrigued by it (and I get it, nobody signed up for IITZ to watch a discussion about fungus, even if I found it interesting).

There’s a good chance widespread touring won’t resume until FALL of 2021. Your telling me crush would delay the album until then? Now that would just be fuckin ridiculous. That would be TWO YEARS since EOTG would have been released by then.
I understand bands and labels wanna tour behind their new releases, maximize profits, etc etc. But there’s gotta be a point where you just gotta say: fuck it, release it, and move on. Lots of artists and bands have still been releasing music. If Weezer of all groups are gonna be who breaks the bank for a label then they have bigger problems. Weezer are one of my favourite bands and I was so excited for van weezer but now I’m just like. Mehhhh. Will still get it and listen to it hard but it’s been a bit ruined for me as well at the point to be honest. Don’t like either how much crush and the band are keeping everyone in the fuckin dark
