Ending of a relationship, disappointed and heartbroken.
Hey guys, I'm a 25 year old guy and have been fond of this community for about three years.
My girlfriend who I thought I would marry broke up with me a few weeks ago and I made the mistake of letting myself miss her today. Just looking for my brotherly advice and help getting through this low point.
I've been reading some Kierkegaard and Augustine to try and help (dudes are pretty much the most neurotic Christian philosophers I can think of, though I guess Augustine is also rather misogynistic), specifically Fear and Trembling and The City of God, but I've still allowed myself to fall into a pit of despair. I mean, I love her. I cherish her and I fear I will never find that kind of earthly love again.
Anyway, maybe I'm just venting but I could really use some uplifting thoughts on how anybody else has dealt with a difficult breakup, through a primarily Christian lens.
I view you guys/girls as part of my Church and was hoping for some input on where I go from here.
Thanks and Love and Peace,
Stephen
