Pedernales Falls? Bull Creek?

Hello all! I'm looking for a prime spot to shroom this weekend. Swimming and foliage are a must, and as much as I love Barton Springs, I need to be somewhere where I won't have to fight for elbow room. Right now I'm thinking Pedernales Falls... has anyone been out there in the last month or two? How's the water? Swimmable?

On a related note, how's the swimming at Bull Creek? I'm a South Austinite, never been up there, but there was a fairly tantalizing photo posted earlier today. Curiosity piqued. Or, if anyone knows of any other spots I might have missed, I'm all ears! Thanks!
