Chord notation preferences?

After spending the better part of an hour fighting with Finale to get the notation I wanted (C∆7), I wonder what the preferences are here on r/piano.

The Finale defaults as Cmaj7 and Cmin7, but that usually takes up too much room on my charts and it's taxing on my eyes. I like to use C∆7 and Cm7 respectively. It seems that usually those who go with C∆7 go with C-7, but I'm not a fan because that looks like an alteration (of course, for such an alteration I would use b or # rather than - or +).

Obviously this could expand a lot to include things like diminished chords, minor-major 7ths and the like.

So what are some of the pet peeves and also favorites for the people here. What are the reasons behind your preferences?
