Got my exway flex after a long painful wait yesterday. Immediately figured out how to turn off the safety mode... I think I probably needed the safety mode.

Your username 👀
I’m 6 foot 190 and I would gladly offload this extra 60lbs for a chance to look good in a Spider-Man suit.
Hahah my time to shine 6'5 240 here only cosplay I can do is Flintstones
Fred or the dinosaurs? 😂 sorry
Starloard, or fat Thor
No trade backs.. Id Take your 60lbs to my 130
5'8 I'll trade heights lol... Lower center of gravity anyone?
I guess everyone hates their own bodies. 😌
Aye the 6 ft 130 club. Close to dangerously underweight.. I'm Trying to be 140 by end of December.
You can get there by the end of August dude I went to 145 when I was at school. But then again that was when gyms were open. Just eat like crazy, but eat well
That is most definitely my problem, I don't know how to feed myself. I've followed a few youtube ideas but nothing really sticks. Ill overeat and get sick to where I miss a meal or two. Ive started eating multiple smaller meals but I feel like Im missing something.
Yeah I used to be 145 but am now 135 after 2 years in college RIP
I was almost 160 when I was at school, now I’m hovering at 145 :/ 6’1 tho so pretty much same body fat %
Eat avocado and rice. That’ll get you there if your metabolism isn’t extra efficient. Good luck.
bruh 6'4 and 250 how the fuck 😭
facts
Dude, sorry to hear that, but this make me lol so hard
haha I love your honesty. Makes me feel better.
Are you brand new to e-boarding? There's a reason we always reccomend new riders to take it slow and not to get over confident.
No I had a board previously for about two weeks before it broke and I got a refund. I’m also an experienced snowboarder. I still definitely got overconfident though.
Two weeks is not enough to get comfortable on a board and snowboarding is much different I am experienced with both haha.
When you hop on the board put it into slow mode and learn how the trucks react to your movements and how the concave impacts that. Adjust the bushings and your stance accordingly.
The Flex is not very forgiving to inexperienced riders because the shape of the deck makes it more sensitive to slight movements. This is even more imperative to remember at high speeds.
SLOWLY work your way up to speed don't switch modes and try to top it out immediately that's how I have seen countless people get hurt in similar ways you have.
Do not get cocky or overconfident I'm sure you have learned your lesson from that. Take it slow.
Yeah I had to tighten the trucks up a bunch after putting on the precision washers. First time out I was surprised at the speed wobbles. But then again, I immediately put it in gear 4 with turbo turned on lol.
I'm always surprised how some people go straight to eboarding who never skated in their life. I skated all thru highschool, got a long board for college, then got an electric skate board, and it was still a learning curve. I think it's very important to have that solid foundation, and it teaches you to learn to fall as well. I assume safety mode is just the slower mode?
I'm actually one of those straight-to-eskate guys. I think I did fairly well, I've only had 2 "bad" accidents in 5000+km of riding. The first was when it was wet and I overestimated the ability of street wheels to handle slick roads. The second was me getting distracted and clipping over the edge of a trail. Neither broke anything, just scraping and tender bits. I do need to learn to roll when falling though rather than sliding.
Hope you heal up soon. I didn’t switch out of speed mode 1 on my first board until the 3rd day. Hopefully anyone else new will see your post and know how important safety is.
And WEAR A HELMET. I would’ve gotten concussed for sure
I use my snowboarding helmet when I skate and I feel so good wearing it vs not, glad you good mostly
Well, it's called safety mode for a reason. If you don't have tons of skateboarding experience and or e-skate experience, use it. But I guess, hindsight is 20/20.
Does anyone else have any problems with the flex riot’s breaking consistency? I think it’s one of the reasons why I ate shit, on top of me being a fool.
Mhhh haven't read this one yet, have you updated the firmware, oh sorry, had you...
I also ate shit on my first day of riding the flex, different arm though https://imgur.com/gallery/UwUzb64 I think the brakes are actually pretty solid once you go into the settings and turn up the brake curve and responsiveness to 100%. Also free mode is the best way to ride it, and some people say the braking feels better with it. Trucks were a little too lose for me out the box considering the speed the board goes. Accelerating/reverse dial could be a bit more pressure resistant/sturdier as well.

Is it supposed to break consistently?
Off-topic question, did your board seemed legit(didn't you have any problems with it)? I'm thinking for quite some time on ordering Flex Riot but I read so many different opinions on that. Now because of COVID, they told me I have to wait at least 30 days for shipment to Denmark. I heard that some people got pre-production boards that had many different flaws :/ I wish you a quick comeback to health ;)
Only had it for a day but it worked just fine and connecting and changing the settings on the app was smooth
What is safety mode exactly?
You have to put a certain amount of miles on the board before you’re able to unlock higher speeds
ahh that makes sense
This is the most r/electricskateboarding post ever
nice pecks👀
I skated for years and it still took me several months before I could “comfortably” ride my eboard at high speed.
Dude! Day 3 for me...
[deleted]
I thought I broke my wrist but my elbow took some of the blow too. I sprained my wrist and there was fluid in my elbow blocking xrays from seeing a potential fracture so I’m going back in on Monday
[deleted]
So true! Had 3 crashes with a eskate and banged my elbow 3 times. I'm not moving a fucking cm on my board without pads :D
[deleted]
Feel sorry for u bro. Take rest
Also save your life and wear a helmet. It's not if you fall but when as you've already seen. No imagine your head coming down on a curb at 25mph. It is game over. If you follow F1 remember Michael Schumacher and his accident (even with a helmet that split).
Do you have any experience riding a longboard? I think before stepping onto an eboard, you should be able to stop with your feet on a normal board, and push for a while with just one foot on the board. Just my two cents! Hope you’re ok, wear a helmet and stay safe. And remember, everything is trying to kill you when you ride an eboard! 😉
Two weeks, apparently not enough
Well don’t be too hard on yourself, I believe in you! Get those chops up a bit, and have some fun! You already have the flair next to your username so no backing down now! 😁
Dude, I completely agree. I've been longboarding on and off for that past 9 years and even I still feel a bit sketchy on the electric sometimes. Can't imagine going straight into an electric. Seems like a death sentence lol.
So how exactly did the crash happen?
Was coming to a T intersection at an incline and I tried to break while turning. I thought the incline would help slow my speed but no. I got thrown off at probably 20mph and rolled on the asphalt. Made the mistake of trying to break my fall with my hand
How did your first board break? What kind of board was it?
It was a skatebolt, not sure which model it was, but it cost me $500. The deck was really rigid and a slight bump caused a crack in the plastic near the battery. Maybe some water got in while I was riding over the damp pavement. But I’m convinced the main reason all stems from how rigid the deck was.
I took a pretty good spill on my new board last weekend. Wear pads! I hit a sandbag going about 15 to full stop and didn't get a scratch, just banged my knee up a bit. Every time I go out I wear a helmet and a protective riding jacket made for motorcycles. I may look a bit nuts wearing a full jacket in the summer heat, but at least if I go down, I know I can roll out of it and be fine. I trust myself, but I don't trust traffic and pedestrians. Going 25 through traffic on a wooden balance beam with no protection is a death wish. Stay safe!
Is it the Flex with hub or belt?
Belt
sorry to hear that man. at least now you got time to finish painting your bathroom.
Funny I didnt even notice that.
Spunked his budget on the board, so bathroom stays like that.
Funny reply
Hahaha that's why I love reddit respect and humor at the same time xD
