Fastest Archaeology Experience at 110?

Hello, what's the fastest exp rates for Archaeology at 110? I'm torn between camping the 110 spots, doing Bandosian Tetracompass logs or completing Zarosian III. Would really appreciate any advice you'd have.

Honestly, follow natural progression until 113-115 then you can start camping for spear and then perhaps finish off a sara4 logs at 116/117 and then Zaros 4 for spear at 117/118.

I think its a waste of time trying to camp for staff pieces at anything but the 118 spot.

Depends on what your goal is for arch. I dont care about 120s or 200m exp, all I want is staff and spear and then Im done with arch. I did 107-114 at the zaros spot. Im glad I did because I got a staff piece at 109. The drop rate is terrible but if all you want are the weapons the 1/90k drop rate on pylon is better than 0% chance at another spot. I have multiple clannies who waited to camp for staff at the 118 spot and they are closing in on 200m with no staff.

Well, yes and no... there’s a balance, you should also be looking to have a stockpile of chronotes, but if people adopt the “oh I’ll figure that out later” mantra then there’s no point in the discussion.

You could camp Zaros 3 logs for notes but then you have to do many, many lower tier spots which are only wasting porters.

Chronotoes are also needed for the manual which boosts material gain/hr and therefore boosts chance of staff piece per hour. If you are only excavating during an active pylon then 1/90k is so stupid rare that you are incredibly lucky to get one. The point you made about your friend who are at 200m now without a staff from 118 only reiterates how unlikely you are to get anything from the 107 or even 114 spot.

So while you’re totally right about “its what you want from it”, there is an overall efficiency stand point which involves not camping the 107 spot.

There was an analysis done a month or 2 ago now about the expected exp youd get a staff at if you camped 107–114 then 114–118 and 118–onwards and it concluded you’d end up at about 210m going 118–staff and 203m 107–staff.

You’d therefore spend about an extra 14 hours camping the staff at just the 118 spot but you’d come out with a high chance at the spear tip and more chronotes/less porter charges used. In a nutshell, if caring about overall efficiency then don’t camp 107 and 114 spots, if only caring about staff and nothing about switching relics, speartip then do whatever you want.

Not best exp but i’ve been canping the 107 spot for the small chance of a staff piece. Now at 111 no staff piece :(
