Former/Current CA's, what is the job like?
Just got offered a CA job and accepted. Was wondering what my expectations are and what a day-to-day break down looks like

What's the difference between an RA and CA even?
RA lives in dorm on a specific floor (except this semester Bc COVID), and actively is the eyes and ears for that floor, and performs room inspections. CA doesn’t live specifically on the floor and are the people who come around the dorm halls every night to make sure nothing illegal is happening, and they work front desk at piedmont and stuff I believe.
Ah okay that makes sense cool. Grats on the job
Thank you!
What was the application process like and what do you need to have on your resume to get the job?
They never asked for a resume, if I remember correctly. The application consisted of 2 interviews, one independently recorded and one in person where they asked questions about interpersonal experience and how you would deal with certain situations. I applied to be an RA, so I don’t know if the CA position application is the same. I was offer CA because I was put as an alternate for RA, and then coronavirus struck so I was allowed to reapply as a CA.
I see, can I ask what your gpa was and what relevant prior experience you had? Also what type of situations did they ask you to respond about specifically?
When I applied last year I was a freshman, so I didn’t have a GPA yet. The only GPA requirement is that you don’t go below 2.5 cumulative or 2.5 semester gpa. The only relevant experience I had was a few leadership roles in high school. They would just ask stuff like like “name a time you had to work in a group, how did it go, how did you achieve your goal?” And hypothetical situations like like “A resident overhears you complaining about your floor, what do you do?”
No idea what it'll be like during covid, but it's really not bad. 4 hours of desk overnight every other week sucked but it's free housing. I think I had maybe 2 incidents throughout all of last year in an upperclass community
do you know if you get your own bathrooms or if you have to share it with everyone else in the hall?
Depends where you live. When I was in park I shared it with the floor, white top I shared it with my suite
ah okay, because i got it in whitetop
Congrats!
