Tell me I'm being salty but is anyone else feeling like they see a lot of "there's no way you could do that on a thumbstick" teams on console?

I play on pc and obviously theres a fuck ton of cheaters on pc. Some obvious some not. I do private match 1v1’s to test my skills. I win a fair amount and id say my hc shot is pretty good, but I matched two dudes back to back that treated me like a toy.
I would be camping a lane with my reticule where they would peek. In both matches the dudes would peek me and still land first shot. Im far from the best and I know theres insane talent out there, but this was another. I spent the entire match retreating. He beat me 10-1. My theory is it has something to do with netcode. He had to be seeing me before I saw him.
It’s called peekers advantage and it’s an issue across all fps games
I know about peekers advantage, but it never feels like its an advantage on D2. In a 1v1 if the the peeker is higher skilled, he can be the aggressor. If both parties are equal skill the passive player has the advantage. This is how it feels to me. No idea how you would test this.
I like to give people the benefit of the doubt normally but man the other day I seriously had to question one dude. The dude would slide around a corner and sniper head shot me instantly every damn time. Id walk into an open line of site, head shot bam. I get the drop on him headshot.
Check their destiny tracker - 1.0 or less in QP, but hitting every single snipe perfectly even quick scopes, sliding, jumping etc.? Cheating or paying someone to cheat for them. Had a guy running Aachen and dire promise in a match the other day that literally always 3-tapped or domed. Check stats - 0.2 KD in about 50 matches.
I used to do that all the time when I was on console. It's super unlikely that you come across a cheater on console. And even MnK players on console are still limited to controller movement. Adapters simply convert the MnK movement into controller input which means they can't swipe, no muscle memory, none of the actual advantages of a mouse, I'm fact a lot of the time it's even a little bit worse.
Don’t get me wrong there are some people that do use a xim or other adapters to allow kbm input but I think most the time it’s to do with either the other player having a higher sens or bungies severs/game performance being weak. I’m not the greatest player but play on 9 sens and had a few people accuse me of using kbm wether it was to do with a quick snipe or something else. I do private matches quite a bit with a friend and I do this thing where I jump over a box to hit a hand cannon shot quite a bit and he always says it seems like I’m shooting before I even jump but on my screen it’s completely normal.
TLDR: there probably are a very small amount of people using kbm but most the time it’s high sens or a laggy/delayed shot making it look quicker than it actually is
To add to this, XIM still can not exceed the max turn speed of the controller since it is just a direct mapping. If you swipe with a mouse faster than the maximum sensitivity, the input will get capped.
Connection plays a big part unfortunately better connection equals better aimassist. And the otjer thing is a lot of people play eith mnk on xim on console. I dont mind mnk part but witb xim you still have aim assist and thats basically cheating then so easy to do flickshots and be faster than any controller player. I hope they add mnk compability on ps5.
Just salty. People will use KMB on console and there is nothing you can do about it. Having said that, I know a few clanmates who uses kbm and told me a few things:
Also if you have that many bad games, just stop playing. Play something else, or just turn the game off and do something constructive (or just watching youtube). Playing more when tilted will just make you rage even more and fuel your salt levels more.
There's no situation where its excusable to use kbm on console, I know there's nothing to be done about it.
But the practice equates to cheating.
I know some people will justify it by saying that PS4 has direct KBM support but honestly? It fits the paramaters of cheating.
I had a friend who is on PC/Xbox and found a cheap second hand Xim. He bought it to try it out and see how advantageous it really is and told me that it doesn't compare to real KBM on PC but that it could be better than a controller if he just played console.
Point 2 for me seems like a direct advantage and a big one, faster and more precise aiming surely guarantees winning of one's ones, granted I know of players who can aim that fast on the sticks but it seems to be a talent most don't have.
Logically if they prefer KBM it stands to reason they have a decent PC and if not for the cost of the KBM hardware and the console they could have a usable PC. IDK but it seems to me theres no other reason to use KBM than to gain an advantage.
I'm not tilted lately tbh, more sad that I don't seem to be making progress
KB+M on 30fps sounds dreadful
What console are you on? I don't know about xbox but I can tell you that my ps4 (non-pro and older) feels like it's going to halt and catch fire any day now. I'm pointing this out because in addition to what happens on the server there are calculations done client side. For the past few months I've had lots of issues in crucible. Generally they center around being shot from enemies that aren't rendered, having radar pings but nobody is there until I'm mysteriously shot, shots from me registering late, players appearing to dodge shots that look on target, players seeming to hit mysterious shots on me...Yesterday I watched this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E18fi9fZKMI (honestly I rarely give any thought to certain nuances of the game) so when I played last night I was conscious of where I was in relation to cover and how I engaged. I felt like the amount of where the fuck are they situations went way down when I focused. I still can't figure out what to do about the situation where the guy slides away and somehow seems to insta-turn and kill me but you can't win them all.
IMO more likely than cheaters is we as console players are feeling the pain of an ever evolving and complex game that we're playing on shitty hardware.
you know now you mention it my xbox frequently sounds like it's charging up a hyper beam lately
Its all about their senitivity. I dont know how but some players have got used to playing on near 100% and it allows them to instantly react to anything going on around them.
Guess the other question is am I missing something with how these players aim?
I played a game of rumble yesterday where a guy no scoped me three times in one game and I mean I was full health catching him unaware and he was spinning around and no scoping. I looked him up on Destiny tracker and he didn't have god like stats. It was definitely sus. But to answer your question I think it's impossible to tell, he might of been having an exceptional game but then again it was definitely suspect.
The aim assist in this game is pretty generous, I hit slide shots, 3 taps and jump snipes pretty consistently and I'm far from a god tier player.
I can say playing on a lower sense helps me a lot.
Yes. On Wormhaven on the middle top part, a Titan slid off the high part towards outside, and did it in a straight line, whilst I was jumping past him from outside at mach 5 with Stompees + strafe jump. Titan instantly does a 180 and shotties me. MnK 100%.
The bullet magnetism is insane with the right rolls. I myself am a console controller user and have video documentation of my own "there is no way that was intended" shots. Here is an example when I ruin this warlocks day.
Nah it's pretty easy to do a lot of those things. Aim assist is ridiculous and if you get used to playing on a higher sense (I play 10) you'll start doing them eventually as well. Just practice and play more. Is that your name on Xbox?
Please read the rules. No rant posts.
There's a variety of things that can influence the game to feel like someone is cheating. P2P network, lag, your connection, their connection, if they're just really good with a gun.
Stop searching for excuses for why you got beat. You got out-played. It happens to the best players. This sub is here to improve, not make excuses.

I really want you to try a MnK on console then make this post. I can guarantee most the people on this subreddit would throw away a mouse after trying it on console. MnK on console with an adapter doesn't even allow for mouse like movements. It still feels like a controller but with just extra steps.
Bungie just add killcams. We have 5 seconds before we respawn, fit a kill cam there. It helps find the cheaters who are using less obvious stuff, head lock centering etc.
can’t do this in trials because it reveals more information than intended, the same reason csgo doesn’t have kill cams in comp
CSGO also has an anticheat to combat hackers that you'd otherwise catch if you had killcams in comp. Destiny doesn't have either feature, which further enables cheaters, so it's either no killcams with an anticheat or no anticheat and killcams with an actual functional report system.
Seriously, compared to literally every other game out there, D2 PvP feels like it's stuck several decades in the past.
Contrary to what most people say, Destiny DOES have an anticheat. The problem isn't not having one, it's that the anticheat just isn't that good.
An anticheat that barely works, while better than nothing, can't really be considered at all useful. There are guys out there blatantly hacking for weeks and months on end. They're not hit with an IP or HWID ban either, they simply make a new acc and hop right into the game on the same pc with the same network and the same hack and are right back at it for another few weeks.
Unless the anticheat can start banning people other than the infinite heavy/revives cheaters then it'll remain useless for the actual silent hacks like esp, walls and aimlock. And unless the bans start being some seriously heavy handed shit like HWID then we'll never see improvements with a F2P PvP experience.
Destiny having no anti cheat is a whole other problem.
Having kill cams to see if someone is cheating is essentially pointless, because if you think they are cheating you are gonna report them anyway. Plus, most people just end up checking stats to see for themselves.
As an edit, you can’t say that csgo has a good grasp on cheaters when you look at the state of the free game
Maybe have post-game killcams? Even if they last for just 10 minutes before deleted or something, itd be nice to know what you're reporting
Not a bad idea, I’ve always loved Potg in games and would definitely be a fun addition.
The problem is most teams launch back into queue as soon as the game ends
Csgo is completely different. What can be revealed in destiny 2 that you don’t already know?
Super progress, utility cooldowns, health, ammo, positons, buffs.
litterally anything that shows on your screen
Correct me if I am wrong, but in games like COD, killcams don't show the ammo, or how much your ability bar or specialist bar has filled, or even how many points you need for the next scorestreak. What you can see, is the attachments the gun has and the perks the guy has...
You’re joking right? Super progress, utility cooldowns and ammo are all part of the HUD, which can easily be removed on kill games. Buffs can be removed as well, but since it’s a 5 sec replay of the PAST it’s probably already gone by the time you can call it out.
Positions is the only thing you can’t remove organically. But it doesn’t matter, cause it’s useless info. Not only is it a 5 sec replay of the past, in a game like destiny 2 where you literally know where everyone is based on your radar, knowing where someone was 5 secs ago is useless.
Health is the most ridiculous thing you brought up. Since you can’t see your teammates healthbars, a killcam would only show you the health bar of the person who killed you. Please explain to me, how exactly can you gain an advantage by telling your team the health he has 5 Sec ago?? (Disregarding the fact that you already see his health bar while you’re fighting him.)
Destiny 2 competitive game modes don’t have kill cams because it would give unfair advantages, it’s because bungie doesn’t want to/(can’t?) implement it
Have kill cam be hudless. 99% of the time you already know their position when they kill you, so you don't really have to worry about that being revealed. Everything else can be hidden if the hud is just removed.
Not gonna happen as long as we are p2p :(
We desperately need them though
They're never gonna add kill cams. It would expose the game's terrible latency way too much.
I wonder what's the best way to do this, though. It seems too valuable, say in Trials, to be able to see what's happening right away and let your teammates know what's going on when you die. So maybe a killcam but with a little view in a corner to still show what's going on in game. Hmm. A killcam would be a pretty great addition to the game for sure.
