Macbook Pro disable automatic desktop switching.
I come from i3wm and recently bought a Macbook Pro (I have been really impressed so far) and have been attempting to get my functionality as close as possible to feeling like i3. I am just about there and seem to have one thing standing in my way....automatic desktop switching when an application launches. For example: I have setup Spotify to launch on Desktop 4, but I am on Desktop 2. I do not want to be dragged to Desktop 4 as it launches. I have found some stuff online "http://www.michael1e.com/disable-desktop-switching-mac-osx/" and I have unchecked "When switching to an application, switch to a space with open windows for the application" under mission control. This didn't really seem to change anything and I am still being dragged to the workspace. Any help would be appreciated!
edit: I should also mention that I am on Catalina 10.15.6

Omg I thought I am the only one. I was also a heavy i3 user. I had to switch because I started developing apps on iOS and Android and I didn't want any hackintosh. BTW. I also recommend Magnet and iTerm2 with shortcut to toggle it. Magnet will help with "tiling" and iTerm2 has functionalities to split console vertically and horizontally. Cheers mete!
I love iterm2, it was the first thing I installed. I will look into magnet. Still need to dig some more on the automatic window switching I guess..
