Untitled Poem About Blackness

to and from the space between us emerges, something

that only allows me to write love poems

knowing that this skin needs words too,

and before the suns can settle and rest

you wrote about love before blackness.

You wrote about love and good sex before

blackness.

And the white girl you fell in love with,

before blackness.

And the sun sleeps and you’ve found yourself

with paper and secrets,

And you know nothing.
