Unattainable Existence
Unknown entities we grace with such fidelity.
A wild gambit for a semblance of identity.
Some desperately pray to their god of love,
Placing some lower and others above.
Their lord is biased, second to none.
To love another, all others you shun.
Others lust for the spirit of riches.
Their loyalty so easily switches.
So grand are the visions of their own self,
They’d let a man starve for a new bookshelf.
For liberty, many earnestly search.
Desperately they try to build their own church.
Loudly they wail, and each attempt they fail,
Blindly building patrons beyond the veil.
For the rest, happiness is their pursuit.
How they succeed is still up for dispute.
How can such glory be so achievable?
Such a strange concept has been misconceived.
Rampantly we chase unattainable existence,
Desperately ignoring the one that waits for our end.
