Achieved Onederland thanks to you!

No pics but a success story:

I'm a tall guy (6'4") and have always been a bit on the heavy side. My freshman year of High School I weighted 219 - I know this because I was on the basketball team and they made me wear one of those plastic wrestler shirts in practice to lose weight (since it was mostly water weight of course I gained it right back when I stopped). When I got married at the age of 23 I weighed 223. I looked pretty good (not overweight but not slim to be sure).

My downfall? I have a heck of a sweet tooth. I love sugar and you know as well as I that it's easy to eat a ton of sugar if you don't keep an eye on it. And I didn't!

Over the years I slowly gained weight. I hit the wall when I was on a regular visit to the Doctor and my weight came up as 284 on their scale. That totally disgusted me and I decided to do something about it before I hit 300 pounds.

I began looking around for a weight loss regimen. Fortunately I found this sub and started on a Keto journey then.. and it's been a great success! Through education and commitment to keto I've had a journey of weight loss, culminating in a scale reading of 199.5 today. It's an amazing number I thought I'd never see. But I'm there. And that blows my mind. Now I suppose I gotta switch to maintenance mode because I don't need to lose any more weight (it's weird to say that).

Thanks to everyone for the encouragement and education you provide. This is an awesome subreddit.

P.S. I entered High School in 1971... got married in 1980.... so this is the least I've weighted in almost FIFTY YEARS!
