A Warden, A Secret Keeper.
Through haze of ocean mist,
Appears you; perfectly focused,
We, trapped in this moment: kiss,
Fearing to let go, means losing us,
Waves crash, drawing out thirst,
Sparring 'gainst heavyweight breakers,
Fearing an oceans rage is this love cursed,
Our passion beaten by nature's,
Ripped from lovers embrace,
One swept to shore, other towards horizons far,
Taste of salt and sand as hands cradle face,
A valentine adrift, two hearts scarred,
Wishing for a star to wish upon,
To move the moon and bring you home,
Sand erodes beneath rooted feet,
Rooted feet become pillars of stone,
Changing tides have not brought her home,
I, a warden of a distance shore,
Her, a keeper of the oceans secrets,
Both, alone - sentenced to the same fate,
We never again shall meet,
But will forever hope.
