I really hope by 2029 I'm completely switched to rechargeables. Right now my X300 on the G19 is the only one I don't have a rechargeable solution for.

Everything I have read says stay away from rechargeable batteries in weapon lights/flashlights. Something about high rate of discharge, and rechargeables lack in that aspect.

Rechargeables RCR123s are trash because they lose about 40% capacity vs the non-rechargeables. 18650s are a far better option: higher output, longer runtimes, and obviously much cheaper over the long term.

I would rather bet my life on a stable, non rechargeable. That’s just me though.

I would recommend doing a bit more investigation, though. I don't know of any well-respected trainer that recommends against 18650 lights generally, and I know of several that specifically endorse the extra output that can only be had from 18650 lights.

18650 is far superior for this application than a CR123. Keep the 123’s for the EOW stuff for sure. That’s a smoking deal.

Go through your local stores online. It should say Clearance if they are on clearance at that particular store. Unfortunately the store you are looking at doesn’t have them on clearance. Check out a few different ones, you’re bound to find them. Some have 12 packs on clearance some don’t. Some have 2 packs on clearance and others don’t. Gotta look around online and pick up in store.

I tried to get these at a local store. Said 5 in stock and then got a call they couldn’t find them and my online pickup order was canceled.
Now it says 3 in stock, so I’m going to try again and see...
Edit: they just called and canceled it again...
Edit2: went and asked at customer service, they looked and couldn’t find them even though their inventory said they had 8 in stock. They price matched Energizer 12 packs to the same price as the Surefire were listed online.

Or you could just go on amazon, get rechargeable cr123as and their power kit and be good for the rest of eternity. You can now recharge your batteries now with a power supply. Only thing I do.

Eh, someone in the above post talked about how rechargeables lost like 40% of their capacity. Also if you only have a few rechargeable batteries and you’re using them for an extended amount of time then it would be easy to run out of juice. I like rechargeable batteries for some applications, but I like keeping some normal batteries as backup.

You're probably getting the wrong brand then. I'm talking rechargeables that have their own power supply and port that you connect them to.
