Subreddit Flair Changes
#Subreddit Flairs Changelog
The r/WarThunder Moderation Team brings you these following changes.
More importantly we should all thank u/kmsxkuse for their work behind the scenes to push the changes through.
Prepare yourselves because the mods will start punching holes in people's left wings today to people who don't follow the new flair rules.
###It is always worth stating rule 2 again since it pertains specifically to the flair updates:
Flair your post appropriately after submitting. Unflaired posts don't get an upvote button and incorrectly flaired posts may be removed.
- Do not abuse the NEWS flair. It is intended only for official War Thunder news from Gaijin sites and sources.
- The DATAMINE flair is for substantive datamining posts. Please do not overuse it for e.g. individual screenshots or minor discoveries.
- The MEME flair is intended for memes. It is not a catch-all flair for jokes and satire.
New flairs:
(for the 10% viewing on old.reddit, new.reddit and mobile can only see the text)
###- Bugs.
Intended to be used for ingame features bugs and unintended gameplay on Gaijin's part.
Note, this is not a substitute for proper Bug reporting to Gaijin. They do not read this subreddit and will not fix whatever bug you posted under this flair or anywhere in this subreddit.
Post proper bug reports to the forum and then post a screenshot / gif / video here to the subreddit for us all to see.
- Loot.
Intended for all the daily awards, post battle awards, or the poor suckers who bought a key then opened up one of the update LootBoxes.
This can also apply to screenshots of the post battle lion / RP awards of very good games, not just the predetermined wheel of fortune LootBox rewards. Hence Loot instead of the full LootBox.
- And Turkish and Modern Canadian user flag flairs.
Renamed flairs:
- General History to Mil. History.
- Peripheral to Hardware.
Merged / Removed flairs:
- Air / Ground / Naval History into Mil. History.
- Air / Ground / Naval Art into Art.
- Air / Ground / Naval Skin into Skin.
- Xbox / PS4 / Mac / PC into Hardware.
Background color changed flairs:
(for the 10% viewing on old.reddit, new.reddit and mobile are color blind)

Part of the distinction with the specific platform flairs is that without being explicitly mentioned in the title, people would know what platform is involved and learn to steer clear or go right in by simply looking at the flair.
While I understand the low usage of them (Hence removing them in order to cut down flair numbers), I disagree with their removal. Instead it should be more clarified when the specific platform or the gamemode flairs should be used. Issues with specific platforms (or hardware) shouldn't be lumped into a single flair.
I personally don't think people would read beyond the title & flair if they didn't gave an incentive for others to click and view the context. But that's me.
Will posts that rant about "I didn't get what's next to what I got" be removed? We all know it's predetermined already.
Also, while understandably a part of the game, gambling is not healthy and I think posts that would encourage others from doing so should be removed.
As of how do you set grounds that a post is encouraging, I have no definitive idea.
Off topic but are weekly posts really gonna make a comeback? Or is this just a copy and paste thing?

Another thing.
You see people post post game reward screens with the respective gamemode flair instead of loot flair. Example. Their intention is to show off their ludicrous rewards or/and achievement.
Should the flair be either gamemode or loot then? Because the way I see it, SL/RP and player performance is tied together.
to answer just the last part right now. I think they should. We have had plenty of new additions since we ended the series. Plus a ton of past vehicles have been reworked since the weekly discussions on them.
I'd be very happy to reintroduce the weekly discussions, it was always a fun opportunity for me to learn a bit more about the vehicle while putting together the thread. One of the main reasons I started to slow down on posting them was the lack of user suggestions for next week's discussion, but with everything that has been added in the mean-time that should no longer be an issue.

Bruh fite me
I'm with you on the hardware one. 90% of the time the Mac flair was used when someone had a problem, most of the time it was something that could be solved with a little advice, there's no filter to do that now.
Adding the loot flair has just set the standards of the sub even lower.
