Right of way to a parking spot

OK, here's the situation.

Straight road, three cars waiting for pickup. Three cars in a row; the two cars on either side are parking illegally over driveways; the middle car is in a legal spot between the two driveways. The middle car drives off, who has first right to the middle spot? The front car or rear car?

EDIT: They both moved at the same time, each across the spot

Sounds like a Seinfeld episode.

You park in the driveway but you drive on a parkway! What’s up with that?

Unless you're parallel parking you don't get rights to reverse in my view. You passed that parking spot so jog on.

i'm going to guess this was a school pickup episode, in which case there are no rules and no enforcement. Yes i am looking at you, parramatta council rangers who hide behind the bus stop so they don't have to do anything resembling their job

They moved the same time and were both half across. They nearly hit, then argued

Gonna preface this by stating I'm not a lawyer, but I would expect that the reversing car would have to give way, as I think they always have to under the road rules?

Don't you mean tow bar vs bull bar?

If I had to judge I would say driving forward trumps reversing.
