Jeremy and his Soccer "Career"
Like many others recently, I've decided to subject myself to extreme torture and go back and start Counting On from the beginning. I've just hit Jeremy's big entrance and the cringe fest that is Jinger and him courting, but the real thing getting to me is trying to keep from laughing out loud every time he brings up his soccer career.
The way he paints it is as this grand sacrifice of stepping away from an implied "successful/thriving" soccer career because he was just so called and moved by God to study at a seminary and preach that he had no choice but shock everyone and retire... when any five minute google search will reveal that his career was always dead on arrival. He had been released from the MLS within one season, and had already lost his spot on the roster for his DIII level team in San Antonio after two games with zero playing time.
It just really cracks me up....this whole time he's been so insufferable....
(also hello everyone, this is my first post lmao, this has all probably been mentioned before but it's still so funny)
