How many circle skirts in one skirt would be considered too many? 🤔

Pattern Question

Just curious to see what people think, especially when it comes to chiffon fabric.

I’m thinking maybe like 5?

How many have you guys put into one?

What are the pitfalls of more than 2?

Hope it’s the right flare

I feel like ‘too few’ is going to be a way bigger problem than ‘too many’ if you’re working with chiffon. Are you trying to make it pouf out? Are the layers different lengths? If they’re all the same flat circle then it’ll work just fine, but you might be eating up a lot of fabric for layers that you won’t be able to see from the outside.

That’s my thinking too! If you’re making a circle skirt may as well go all out right?

It’s going to floor length with maybe a little (and I mean little) train. One length and not too much fullness at the top; hence the chiffon. I’d like fullness at the bottom so it’s super dramatic when you walk haha.

I’m thinking of making the outer layer in the chiffon and then a less full, shorter version for the inside as a modesty thing. Maybe a matching georgette so it won’t add too much more bulk to the upper half of the skirt but create more coverage. I’m thinking just above knee?

Yeah, seems like it’ll work just fine. Haha, good luck working with that much chiffon :)

Seconding the chiffon help call...I don't know if I can help, but I would try to hem the bottom even before sewing the side seams together so they don't frey too much during all the moving around. And also if you're doing french seams, ironing the first one to not get the second too lumpy (at least on the one outside layer).

Goo luck, soldier.
