the relationship killer

i used my anger as a guard
and never realized
it was the one leaving scars.

everything had come to an end
for my words were so sharp
they cut ties with friends.

each fight, i ended succeeding
but the price to pay,
was a relationship bleeding.

handed out sorries
like they were bandages,
turns out they were too flimsy
to repair the damages.

my texts are now a graveyard,
collecting dust.
“it’s your fault they hate you,”
i tell myself in disgust.

insult after insult, feud after feud
everyone is gone...

and i’m left in solitude.

Visceral. I really enjoyed the internal rhymes and pacing of this. Also, are you me? I've been through something similar. If you're seeking advice, I'd say try to root out the cause of your anger, come to terms with it, and see if there's any way you can make amends through that lens. True friends will understand and some may just not be ready.

I really like the rythym of this. And also the way that you talk about apologies. Sometimes we try to apologize to mend something that's already broken, and I can really relate to that. Thanks so much for posting

That was so raw and human. I loved the flow and rhyme scheme, and the words made me feel so much. Thank you for sharing.

This was one of the best poems on the subject I’ve read. Felt like I lived it without actually having lived it. A suggestion would be to continue the solitude part.

Firstly, fire words my dude

Secondly, I genuinely loved all the metaphors in this work. It helped not just rhyme (and subsequently the flow), but it also helped emphasize the main themes/ideas of each stanza. Beautifully made I must say!

Shoot this is awesome! For the last line tho, how about changing “in” to “with”? Just a suggestion u don’t have to take it tho

This hits close to home, and it’s very, very relatable. Mainly because I can define myself in it as a bridge burner, and living with the pain brought from ourselves.

Anyway, I enjoy the simplicity and flow.

The words at the end of each stanza really hit, like I felt what you felt when you were describing the relationship

This is my poem omg(not literally)!!! I got wrapped in this kinda drama! I had to leave school and learn to control my anger! Actually, just last night some kids started cyber bullying me, and I IGNORED IT! It was a huge milestone for me because I never thought I could do this! In a way, I feel I lost but at the same time I feel I won

Heavy, man. One thing, I think the second line could use another syllable. So maybe “they cut ties with my friends”?

I like poems in lowercase as well it gives a different tone to it. Good job!

The anger and disappointment in this poem really speaks to the audience. I enjoyed the strong use of language, and you played with the some words meaning, such as "Sharp" in the second stanza.

" my words were so sharp
they cut ties with friends. "

This double meaning sentence was a good use of creativity. The only thing I would suggest is maybe changing the sentence " insult after insult, feud after feud ", it seems a little repetitive. Either way, beautiful piece :)

I can feel the emotion in your poem, the feeling of regret towards a broken relationship, and the choice of words used are effective as it described the feeling of the narrator and what the poem is all about. I am not good at critiquing so sorry if I haven't interpreted it well.

I really enjoy the rhythm and emotion conveyed here, and "my texts are now a graveyard, collecting dust.“it’s your fault they hate you,”i tell myself in disgust." seems really interesting and original to me but some of the similes seem a little cliche, sort of like the sticks and stones will break my bones vibe. Not necessarily a bad thing just could be seen as cliche.
