calm is the study

Calm is the Study

calm is the study of the soul by hand

the ripping into the depth of you

the revelation of the everyday

rage is the epiphany—the jungle is not real

we were not meant to live this way...

the brain can handle the different

set_of( perspectives [] );

but doesn’t know why it has to why

we must try so hard

and question

and live

and work for food? but the earth is a Garden it says

the earth is a Garden

then garden does did not mean what it meant because

grey is everywhere because

it is cheap.

Beautiful and so deep. I especially love the first line! The rest of the poem reads and flows right, and leaves you reading some of the lines twice because they’re lovely. Great work!

Love love love. The commentary on how we treat the earth struck me: "grey is everywhere because it is cheap" Ugh fabulous. I also love your timing and formatting!

Really interesting cadence. You’ve got some really gorgeous lines here. The beginning line of the first stanza: “calm is the study of the soul by hand” is so lovely. I feel you could connect the patterns of the top of the poem into the second half so that the transition into “the brain can handle..” is a bit smoother.

It was lovely reading your poem! I really enjoyed the rhythm and breaks within it and the tension that came with each break. Your wording was pleasantly visceral and really allowed me to feel the words as easily as I read them. Keep it up !!
