Dear MFA: this is how pants should fit. You're welcome.

http://www.ssense.com/men/product/paul_smith/striped_trousers/35474

Slim in the thigh, slim in the calf; no excess fabric anywhere. A decent medium rise in the waist. Crotch cut to be at your actual crotch, not floating 6 inches below. Enough length to stack a little bit at the shoes. Bottom cuff openings that aren't so tight it looks like you're wearing clown shoes.

Pants perfection.

I acknowledge your opinion but respectfully disagree.

I acknowledge his opinion and disrespectfully disagree. That's a very specific fit for that body-type. On an average sized man, it would look foolish.

ptrbOP•

That man is decidedly average-sized.

I absolutely disagree. He's slim, if not skinny. Look at those legs. I don't care what his BMI is, those photos are of a thin guy.

sundowntg•

That's a scrawny fellow.

2
zzzaz•

No, it isn't. That's how skinny pants should fit, and even then those are bordering on too skinny.

7
ptrbOP•

False! These constitute baseline, normal pants. These are skinny pants. Adjust your perceptions accordingly.

My pants will never fit like this because I have an ass and leg muscles.

If this guy's BMI is average, then I'm obese.

abadonn•

BMI is crap anyways, I have a BMI of 30 at 15% body fat.

BMI is fine for large group statistics, for some reason that has morphed into being incorrectly misapplied to individuals.

1
abadonn•

That is a good point, it just worries me when people measure themselves by their BMI or even worse when medical decisions are made based on a person's BMI.

Unless you're a professional weightlifter, I call shens. Prove me wrong with a pic.

I'm 5'9" and 200 lbs, which comes out to a BMI of 29.53.

I'm pretty muscular with a large frame and a little cushioning around the middle, here is a recent WAYWT pic. Sorry but I'm not gonna post shirtless pics on the internet :)

1
ptrbOP•

You're just straight up overweight. Sorry dawg.

-2
abadonn•

Yeah, if you're a bean pole.

4
ptrbOP•

Negative. That guy is squarely in the "normal" BMI classification.

This post pretty much proves subjectivity and that no one is infallible. Your opinion is one of very few on this sub that I hold in high regard, but I'm going to have to disagree here. Your perfect fit is not my (or most of this post's readers') perfect fit. The only real difference between these and the skinny example is the skinnys are slightly tighter from the calf down. That's it.

I think most people will find this a bit more appreciable. Slim, but not as skinny as stick boy in the Paul Smith's. They're actually a touch more loose than usual, as I have worn them a couple times without a wash.

Even if you hate the fit, we can still agree to disagree :)

Yes, and the fact that they stretch after a few wears without being washed. I dig the jean fit.

I agree!

butt too tight, problem of cut, else everything is ok

I'm not a fan of pants that let an onlooker clearly distinguish between each cheek but that's just like, my opinion man.

2
Ingenium21•

Yeah, if you want to have a vagina.

1
shujin•

That's a skinny fit. It's not a bad fit, but it's a very skinny fit that most people can't properly achieve.

If that's how pants should fit, I'll continue being poorly dressed.
