Front Sprocket Torque — 1980 Honda CM400T

Hey y’all

I’ve searched the internet and two manuals for hours trying to find the torque specs for the two 10mm bolts that secure the front sprocket on my 1980 CM400. All I can really find is 22-29 lbs for a standard 10mm bolt but nothing specific to the front sprocket.

Any ideas?

Just use a chart for torque by thread size.

Remember, a 10mm head will have 6mm threads. 22-29 lbs is a lot for that sized bolt.

Those are 6mm bolts so they should not be torqued anywhere near to the numbers you mentioned.

Those torque charts go by the thread size, not the bolt head size.

I would do them by feel anyway, just put some blue Loctite on them if you're worried about them coming loose.
