Love me some batching. Would love to see some others
Sea Monsters - Krakens / Leviathans / Octopi / Serpents
Undead - Skeleton, Zombie, Vampire, Shade, Spirit
Swarm - Insect, Rat, Spider, Squirrel
I made a couple of cards like that. It was for a custom set I'll never finish, but makes for an easy way to include zombie tribal effects without requiring a massive number of named Zombies to support.
If you had to batch "Soceries and instants" similar to historic or party, what would you call that batch category? I came upon "magick scrolls" but that's too thematic. It needs to be something more generic like "spells" but a synonym.
I played a Deep deck in modern once. Great stuff.
If spells weren't a term in magic, batching those in enchantments under "spells" would be good, and would be a good fix for prowess (pw and Artifacts triggering prowess never sat well).
Maybe Mystical?
Oh yes! Mystical would work as a batching term. Set Design was already considering it for (Artifacts, Enchantments, Faeries)
It would def work for Sorceries and Instants. I also also thinking "Hex", though the connotation wouldn't work for all the colors. I feel like it should play up the "one-shot" nature of spells. Incantation or Charm or Trick, maybe? I wonder if they could use a nonEnglish word. Majik or Magia.
