Why do I write

I write because I like seeing what I feel

In a tangible form it makes me feel warm

Less alone less unseen

Someone that has a proof of his existence

His resilience

At every decision taken with feet in quicksand

Because I have too much on my mind

Yet nothing in my hand

That is why I write

I can't live in black and white

This way or that

And for that

I write so even when I forget why did I do something I regret later on

Even when I continue loving someone after moving on

I have my notes telling me that it's what I felt to do at that moment

And it's only because I write I have never felt resentment

Towards myself

Looking in the mirror

No lies lived

Only truth that's documented

I write

Because my vision is my only possession

Not the one that helps my eyes to see the sunset

But the one that comes to me mid shower

And it is more than a poem

A promise to my past that it won't happen again

A challenge for my future to not let it happen again

And what about my present?

It is everything I am doing right now

Writing

Solving questions

Talking with friends discussing the new season

Of Bojack Horseman or Parks and Recreation

And of course write

Again

Because that's the only thing that doesn't feel like a fight

It comes easy

Beautiful. You describe exactly the reason why I write as well. Not only you're putting words on paper and expressing emotions, you're also documenting important events throughout your life. I appreciate this piece, and for that, I also award you gold.

I totally feel this one. Writing, when it flows, just feels so natural to me. I also think about it all the time, especially in the shower. Honestly, I just agree with this poem more than anything. Good job.

I love this. Words just come to you and you have to write, that's as simple and all it is.

This. Writing is so elevating as its a beautiful form of self expression. When I have really dark thoughts I just write, it may be garbage but its a very personal form of escapism I have. Thank you!

You put into words exactly what I feel about writing perfectly and made it in such a beautiful manner!

I see you and I write for the same reasons. speaking my truth keeps me in the present.

Man, writing really does solve questions. I feel like my brain is a ball of tangled yarn most days, but if I write for a bit, I can find unravel a bit of it. Great stuff!

I love this, you manage to some up the reason why I write better than I’d be able to... and you’re a bojack horsefan so 10/10 ;)

I for one
Write to make things undone
To topple kings and gravel stone
So that nothings ever written forever
And if you think you have a clever
Verse that worsens never
A testiment to time
That just the perfect rhyme
Makes your decisions be sublime
Even in future past and present

Well I disagree.
Isn’t the point of poetry
To write the beautiful, and teach
Not yourself; but others what you felt
And beauty changes over time
Like silent boats on sunset sea
Or violent streetcars glowing fleet
Or starships verse to the universal
The last and infinite frontier

Oh maybe you are right
We do learn from past delight
And if the futures form might
Be, similarly painful to the past
Then writing now
Just may allow
This writing then, to last

((Sorry that I had no actual criticism, I didn’t have time to writer a proper analysis))

I relate hard to this one. It conveys the message very well. I’d recommend creating some more stanzas rather than just individual lines, it’ll help keep it more organized and easier to read
