Would absolutely love him at the Saints and I think he would still get some good playing time here.
Guys like Hanners and Jones (due to his playstyle) will probably need rests, and I'm sure he'd compete very well for the spots that have gone to the likes of Sinclair and Hind this year.
Not many people go for the Saints, so I think there's something special about getting in a player who would improve us who is also a long time supporter.

Could be a really good move, has really good highlights (although they're from his draft year), he was a mad Saints fan though.

Saints have been very keen on him since before he was drafted - have also had an offer in front of him for most the of the year apparently. So there is a bit going on there.
But could depend on how enticing the Dons' offer is I guess. Says his exit interview at GWS wasn't great.

Are you a Saints fan? Sounds like he wants gametime, do you think he would get it at St Kilda? I thought he was taller but I guess I mixed him up with O'Halloran, he'd still probably get midfield time at Essendon though.

Yeah I think he would get gametime at St. Kilda, especially in the coming years as Hannebery/Ross approach 30 and beyond. When a couple injuries hit this season Saints' midfield looked quite depleted.
O'Halloran is an interesting one. also out of contract and I think Essendon have been linked to him, could be a better fit because of size as you said (but I actually dont know much about him other than that). Would be strange if Giants let all of their 2018 picks get away from them in 2 years though

The currency Essendon have here is that they can offer him first team football off the bat. He may have trouble breaking into St Kilda's midfield in 2021.
The flipside is that if he grows into an elite footballer there's a better chance of him being an important cog in a successful team at the Saints.
Will be interesting to see how this one pans out.

Don’t want him at the saints if he’s concerned about getting a game. He’s a pick 11 and although our midfield is okay, it’s not exactly Brisbane Lions early 2000s, he should be backing himself in to get a game. He’s also coming into his third year, look what happened to Clark and Coffield when we backed them and gave them regular senior footy this year. Don’t buy it into the ‘he’ll go to the bombers because he’ll get a game’ theory at all.

I don't really buy it either, if it's the reason he picks Essendon over us then he belongs there instead of us anyway.

Just be aware Dons that for every Steele or Adams there is a Ahern, Tyson, Bonar, Kennedy, ORourke, Hampton, Darley, Jaksch, Whiley etc.

I'm pretty terrible at evaluating draft pick value and what not, but he was taken pick 11 (in a very strong draft) though his lack of games on the board means nothing higher than that I'd say. A late first would probably work or something more convoluted surrounding a second rounder and some pick swaps? That is my best guess but someone more knowledgeable can correct me
