Gun Show buying without a CCW

Quick question from someone relatively newish going to their first gun show this weekend in Florida (and I don't think this one is commonly asked since I can't find anything on it). I've bought two guns so far online and when dealing with my LGS because I don't have my concealed permit I have to go through a mandatory 3 day waiting period AFTER passing my background check.

My question is how would this work through sales at like a gun show? Do I merely need to pass the background check, does the person I bought the gun from send it to a FFL dealer like my LGS and I go through the usual routine of transferring a gun with them, etc.

The DMV does them? I thought it was the Ag Dept or something.

It is. You don't go to the DMV. No idea what he's talking about.

Pretty much everyone at a gun show is an FFL. It doesn't make sense for a PP to pay for a table to sell guns at a show. The only people you'll find like that are selling older guns.

Not sure about Florida specifically but in other states the background check takes about 15 minutes or less. There is no mandatory wait in my home state. The wating period seems to be based on if they are a dealer or private party.

That's everywhere.

In FL, when buying a pistol, if you're 21+ and don't have a FL LTC, after passing an NICS check, you must wait 3-5 business days (depends on county) before taking ownership of your new pistol.

If you have your FL LTC, are buying a pistol and pass the NICS check (FL doesn't exempt the NICS check even if you have a FL LTC) you can take your pistol home as soon as the NICS check and paperwork is finished.

As for private sellers, I can't say any more. Those laws changed quite a bit after 2018. I left in 2017 and it used to be as long as both parties were at least 18 and trading privately owned property, free trade of all firearms was allowed.

That's actually not a bad idea (man there really is a subreddit for everything). Thanks.
