I see dream blocks and bumpers both in B tier, that's a burning take
That's what I thought. Bumpers are generally hated by the community for a good reason, and space jam can be seen in like every custom level ever
Dream blocks are cool, but one dimensional. The only reason they're not down in D tier with the other straight line stuff is because they feel quite good to use. I considered if 7A's 1000m orb room would be as fun if it were set out the same but with blue bubbles. I thought it might be a bit jank.
While I was glad to see the back of so many bumpers in 6B, they're quite dynamic in their use. They can be both an intentional and unintentional help/hinderance, and really test you're paying attention.
but one dimensional
Have you ever tried dream-hypers? Super satisfying and adds a dimension imo
Yea man, that's why they're B tier.
I don't really agree with the jank stuff (core blocks, bumpers) being up in the higher tiers
also where's the theo crystal
Theo isn't really much of a "mechanic" like most of the others are
theo is as much a mechanic as jellyfish is
Gordon Bennett, can't believe that. Theo would be S, of course.
Forgot Seekers, too. They'd be in F.
I want to add Badeline (Old Site): C, and Badeline (Reflection): A
>Bumpers and core blocks not in F
This ain't it chief
Also as someone who has been playing the game grab-less for the past couple weeks, I can’t accept wind and moving blocks as anything other than F tier.
those snowballs are fun...once you know the timing, they are actually like having a platform that you perfectly timed...snowballs are at least D tier :)
I get you, and that would be cool if there were more opportunities like it, like there is on the mods (I only have the main game on console). But they generally get in the way on the vanilla chapters and become pretty much an obstacle, rather than an interactive mechanic.
But they generally get in the way on the vanilla chapters and become pretty much an obstacle, rather than an interactive mechanic.
that was my point though, in the vanilla game for the snowball parts, i literally use them as a platform...they aren't an obstacle, they help me get through the level, and it would suck without them :)
Down with Kevin and up with core blocks lol
good list, but i'd move feather to c tier and the pinball thingy from b to d
I'd put red bubble higher and the freakin chapter 6 bouncy things WAAAAY down. They are a pain. Other than that, yeah, pretty much xD
Why aren't Kevin and dream blobs higher?
The fire and ice balls of the core should be in G tier or smthn, hated those😤
Finally someone else who doesnt like the snowball (and also loves the jellyfish).
Is this difficulty or...?
Kinda the fun levels. Which would be affected by the difficulty, I guess. But not an attempt at objective difficulty. Just my own take.
I hate bumpers so much, F tier is too good for them
Also Kevin’s are the best mechanic in all of Celeste and I have only once had a bad experience with one
Dust bunnies aren’t even on there
Because they’re below f
I would put both boosters in b tier because of potential outside of the base game. Like custom maps and such.
Really gonna put wind above bubbles, huh.
Bubbles are really linear, I think. You can do the dashy stuff out of them, but it doesn't really have all that many uses. Wind is like the modifier to every other mechanic, so I feel like I had no choice but to have it a little higher than rating wind in a vacuum.
After playing 6d id have to disagree with you on bumpers
I agree completely except I would put dream blocks much higher
Feathers in E tier... This user must be a keyboard player.
Ya caught me. I'm d-pad, though.
I think they'd only go up to D tier if I were good with them, though. It's not their difficulty in handling that I don't like. It's that they remove the fun parts of playing Maddy.
I really considered wind being lower, but it honestly makes you work to achieve your neutral position instead of being idle. Simple concept, but it affects all other mechanics in the same way.
Old Site Badeline is just an obstacle I think (same reason Dust Bunnies aren't on here) but I definitely should have put Reflection Badeline on. Maybe C tier, B at a push.
I also want to add the bird from Farewell. I always feel super awesome when it throws me.
And by that logic the baddy orb too
Wait... why do you use d-pad for feathers if you're playing on a controller, why not switch to analog when you enter a feather and then switch back? That's what I allways do. I thought everyone played like this.
I used to use the stick for everything, until I started my first run through 5C and 7C. Then I changed and never really needed the stick until goldens. By now I'm just used to it, though.
