Lighting a person on fire, "prank" or not is assault. At this point, we don't even know the type of burns this individual may have as a result of this "prank." Regardless, it is still assault.

Well yeah. I get that they're bro ably friends and stuff so he likely wouldn't have tried to press charges but the guy should've seen the possible ways that could've gone horribly wrong before he did that.
