Good Pour Over Coffee in NYC? Is it Possible?

UPDATE: 10/23/20 I kinda gave up, seems the life in NYC is too fast to be able to find a good pour over, it just takes time. This leads to the quality of beans being roasted not to matter as much, at least for drip and filter roasts. I'll have to order some San Francisco beans once i find an apartment.
So far coffee and pizza has been a huge disappointment in NYC :)

I'm here in the city that never sleeps but it seems that the options for good coffee are rare. I am looking for a good Single Origin pour over. It seems that post Covid first wave no one does pour overs anymore, or if they do they're pretty rushed and not good at all. See, i'll enjoy a $2 slice no problem but have no issue paying $7 for a cup of Joe if it's GOOD! I don't do Espresso, lattes, mochas, frapes or anything with milk, dairy or non dairy.
All i need is a good Black pour over, heck, i'll settle for a mediocre one right now. Lemme know options and i'll let you know if i tried it already. I tried searching online but i can't seem to find a list specific to pour overs or chemex.

Funny enough, pour overs aren't that popular in the city. I think it's mostly people are so on the go. I'd check out Black Fox and Box Kite in the city. There's probably spots in Brooklyn that I haven't been to that do it as well.

I’m not sure if they’re doing pour over right now, but I had a REALLY EXCELLENT cup at Coffee Project on East 5th back in March before everything shut down. They are open again

Gonna check them out tomorrow, at the very least get some grounds for the coffee maker in my hotel room

Porto Rico isn’t too far for fresh ground coffee too

Have you tried making it at home? It's really not that hard.

I usually do, i am in a hotel right now looking for an apartment, so don't have my stuff with me. I usually use really high quality beans and grind right before i make it with the right water to weight ratio so i am pretty snobby when it comes to it lol. I may have to wait until i move into a new apt probably

That makes sense. Best of luck in your apartment hunt!

Tried Bean n Bean, a little below average. too watery and not enough acidity.

There’s a couple locations for Stumptown that make an alright pour over. They haven’t blown my mind or anything, but it’s an option.

Blue bottle coffee?

Pretty terrible, tastes burn and consistency is nonexistent. It was above average before they got bought out, back in SF(where i come from) but after that the quality just went out the window

kona coffee co in EV does single origin pour overs. I've personally never had it but the other coffee items i've tried have been excellent.
