How can I check for signs of detoriation in blood vessels in a diabetic person?

Male, 31 years old. Diagnosed with T1 1,5 years ago. I completed my yearly health check recently and everything looked good so far but there is one thing I am curious about.

If I'm correct diabetes clogs (and/or in some other way damages) my blood vessels.

How can I catch signs of that type of damage so I can catch it early and act before it gets bad? I don't think any hospital test checked for specifically that.

I did a "stress test" where I ran on a treadmill with sensors attached to my body and got data for all kinds of diagnostics for the function of my heart and they all seemed good - someone said that this type of test is enough, because if my blood vessels weren't in good condition my heart wouldn't function properly - is that true or is there another test to specifically test for the condition of my blood vessels? I smoke weed occasionally, and I realize smoking isn't great for blood vessels either, so this is something I am trying to pay close attention to and catch any early signs of issues as fast as I can. Thanks for all replies in advance!
