Archeology Professors: Can you please recommend a textbook/any reads?

I have a friend who isn’t in the best place mentally at the moment. Since childhood, she’s had such a deep fascination with archeology though. She’s currently in a bad relationship and putting her life on pause for others at the moment.

I think an intro to archeology college textbook would be the perfect gift for her. I know she loves to read. I know she’ll be captivated by the subject matter. My hope is that it’ll inspire her to put herself and her goals first for once.

If you could recommend any textbooks/ novels/ research articles/ magazines/ literally any reading material, I would be so grateful!
