Anyone want to fill me in on what happened with the banwave? How is it that the mod isn't detected but a ban wave has occurred?

Thanks.

Edit: I would assume this is the result of statistics they run? Like if you're catching too much too fast? Or can they detect what other apps you have on your phone?

It has to do with people sharing screenshots without coving their trainer names. They use to allow people to brag about screenshots but not anymore. The group was fresh when it happened.

Is that really all that happened? Has anything occurred that wasn't so... easily avoidable (so far)?

Yup, I caused their ban wave by putting their Discord Group in a pinned post in PokemonGoSpoofing when I was a mod over there. This was when they were new. Niantic employees saw the post and saw idiots bragging about their screenshots without covering their trainer name.

I haven't used Pokemod yet, since I mostly run the Gotcha 75% of the time. This information is a straight copy and paste from their Discord and website.

Thanks for the information. One way Niantic could still detect pokemod is from the app name. Can pokemod be cloned to a random name. Will it work.

You need to join their Discord and ask them directly.

Do apps have permission to view your other apps? That seems... fishy.

Found the answer to my own question. Yes. Yes they can, or at least predict your other apps, with high accuracy, based on the data your phone provides about other processes being run. There are academic papers on this.

So basically, not even changing the name is safe, and this applies to every mod.

Lmfao.

Insert table flip here.
