"Under no circumstances are you to pass the 11 car"
Oof....just an accusation at this point but oof indeed.
Did that actually get said?
It is an accusation that this was said. Just an accusation and it could be total bullshit.
It’s real
Evidence? I haven't heard any playback of it. So to me it is an accusation unless evidence comes out to the contrary.
Can we maybe not spread rumors as fact until their confirmed man
Ouch
At what point is someone with a blue checkmark going to talk about Jones being asked not to pass Hamlin? Surely that is against the rules.
Why would it be against the rules? It’s cutting a teammate some slack to assist them in making the final round of the playoffs. It’s not like he brought out a yellow or blatantly manipulated the race. I don’t understand the big deal here unless something else was said.
NASCAR and their 100% rule. It's very rarely used, but they have penalized people that they've deemed haven't run as hard as they could
Pretty sure not passing is allowed. It's dropping 10+ spots for example or intentionally causing a yellow that's frowned upon. And that's if provable beyond a reasonable doubt. Pretty easy to do it without being super obvious about it.
So surely Matty D pulling over for Brad would break the rule too right?
Brad shoved Matty D out of the way, like he did most of the people he passed on that last run.
It's against the rules. They made saying you have to drive 100% and not manipulate points to favor teammates advancing.
Especially when they told him directly not to do it on the radio. If they didn't tell him directly on the radio nothing happens. But they did. Which is why based on history something should happen here.
Well I’ll just say if they do something to the 20 or 11 I’m gonna disagree with it. I just don’t see a problem with telling Jones to not pass Hamlin with 10 laps to go. It’s common sense.
It's literally against the rules. You disagree with the rules.
No context given yet, others have tweeted things about Jones not being able to pass the 11 so there could be some interesting things surrounding that.
edit: Small thread by another reporter giving more hints about, well... something involving the 20- https://twitter.com/joegucciardo/status/1323062085824163840
I think it's just a tweet about Harvick missing the Championship honestly, I doubt NASCAR is gonna change anything at this point.
Only Joe Gibbs Racing knows the truth.
SHR played it straight. Bowyer could’ve let Harvick by if they wanted.
If that’s really what happened, I don’t think Gibbs can feel that good about it even they win it. My opinion.
If they can sleep good knowing they cheated, more power to em.
If this is considered cheating then blocking for a teammate at talladega or Daytona should be considered cheating. I find it very hard to believe that the Gibbs team was cheating when SHR could have done the same with bowyer. Should be a no call.
Lmao I have no clue what this means but I think its Harvick personally
What things would those be? If Jones doesn’t want to pass the 11 he doesn’t have to. Not sure I follow.
Actually they fucked up by telling him directly via radio not to pass the 11. Which is breaking the rules.
Not just that, but Jones was clearly faster than Hamlin judging by how many times they showed him underneath Hamlin and then Jones would just back off right before they got into the corner. If there's audio of them telling Jones to back off, there might be hell to pay
It seems obvious to me. NASCAR has been pretty clear in the past about not manipulating race results.
Well. Please tell us more what you got
I’ll gift you all my free awards if harvick makes it somehow someway
CHAMPIONSHIP 5...
Stop! I can only get so erect!
Harvick to the Championship 5 confirmed
Holy shit. JGR is gonna get smoked . Harvick may get added. It’s on twitter

Thank you Jenna, very cool!
Hamlins about to get some Hamlin luck here isn’t he.

Was just about Harvick missing the final 4
I don't know if I believe that, that's way too vague a statement that came out well after the race was over for it to just be about Harvick missing it
How much you wanna bet NASCAR says next year the regular season champion is guaranteed a spot in the championship race?
[deleted]
And this means what...? It could mean anything from Chase failing tech to the JGR 11/20 getting penalties... just tell us what it is smh
So if NASCAR does find Jones and Hamlin manipulated the finish/points, does NASCAR punish Hamlin and Jones? or just Jones? They punished Truex for spingate if I recall correctly right?
Or perhaps even the entire squad kind of like spingate in 2013?
Not to mention the shenanigans last year with the Rick Ware cars and spire I believe
Edit:and premium
Which would be stupid honestly, just penalized Jones and his CC and move along to Phoenix. No reason to ruin Hamlin's best shot at a championship just for something he probably had no part in.
I don’t see how you can penalize Hamlin. It’s not like he did anything wrong. The owner may have, but what exactly would Hamlin have done wrong
it would be to discourage it from happening again. if they get exactly what they want theres no reason not to try again next year.
I also see NASCAR not wanting to penalize Denny considering his new stake in a team and having one of the very few full season sponsors in the sport.
Hamlin did nothing wrong
Jones got told not to pass the 11. They may add the 4. I’ll be pissed if they take Denny out as he had no idea
Yeah I think just Jones should be penalized, maybe Truex if he got the same words as Jones. But Hamlin did nothing wrong. I just pointed it out cause Truex got penalized for spingate, even though he was innocent in the whole thing (I think).

booooooo
I don’t see how NASCAR can penalize JGR, they had to see this as a possibility when they set up this ridiculous game 7 system. If they don’t want stuff like this to happen then change the system bc it’s just asking for it
[deleted]
They probably should for starting the race on a wet track last week.
Chris Buescher and JJ Yeley think they should just redo that race
BREAKING: NASCAR to dump random bucket of water in first grove at unknown time at Phoenix
sponsored by Dasani
It's either that or somehow Elliott failed inspection, I can't think of anything else that would warrant something that vague
Edit: Scratch the 9 failing, so they're probably going to add Harvick
If they don't add Harvick after blatant race results manipulation by the JGR teams if I'm Harvick I junk Hamlin at Phoenix and retire on the spot. Let Cindric run the 4 for a season.
Well that certainly would be going out in a blaze of glory
