r/Drugs AMA series: MDA
Up next on our poll of redditors is a drug that is often passed off as MDMA when sold to unsuspecting buyers. A quick look at the effects listed on Erowid give you and idea why, as they closely mirror that of it's ecstatic cousin.
Adding another entactogen to our series of AMA's, today the discussion will be centered around MDA.
First synthesis: 1910 by G. Mannich and W. Jacobsohn. Don't ask about their first names because, according to several minutes of googling, they're impossible to determine.
Intended use: Originally intended to be an cough suppressant, tranquilizer, and appetite suppressant, it is currently only used as an entheogen and recreational drug (of the entactogenic variety, one would assume).
Current research into medical applications: None.
Legality: Illegal across the board without a license.
