DualSense O button sticking

Help & Tech Support

The O button on one of my DualSense controllers is sticking and has been that way right out of the box. I luckily have 2 controllers so I just haven’t used that one, but I really want to contact Sony and exchange it for a new one since it came damanged/faulty. I haven’t been able to get ahold of anyone over the phone as it just says they aren’t taking calls because Id high volume and I’ve tried everyday at different times for over a week.

I have also tried contacting live chat and the representative told me that I have to call because only the people over the phone can help with PS5 related issues (seems like BS to me). I even explained to him what was happening with calling and he essentially said keep trying....

I also cannot find an email to contact support, which I was hoping I could do so I had dated proof that my controller has been faulty since purchase.

Does anyone have any tips? I know other people are having similar issues with sticking buttons.

I have the same issue with the same button. I've been calling support periodically and haven't been able to get through yet. It's not a good setup.

I actually was finally able to get through yesterday. The solution is pretty stupid. They said it’s under warranty (which it better be because it literally just came out and was sent to me faulty). The rep on the phone had to keep putting me on hold to look into it and he came back saying I can send it to their service center and they will assess it themselves which means they are going to try to “fix” it first and not just give me a new one. No box or shipping label provided so it comes out of my pocket to send it to them and let’s be honest they are probably gonna take the faceplate off, give it a quick clean and send it back. It will be sticking again after a day.

Overall pretty shitty of them especially when they sold me a faulty product. I didn’t have this for years and mess it up.

I finally got through too and got the same result. It's stupid that I had to pay to ship it to them when it was defective to begin with.

In contrast, I had a Joycon issue with my launch Switch, and Nintendo sent out a box and I think replaced the controller completely. This was long before the issue was so widespread.

Sony doesn't care.
