Taxis are awesome.
Yea believe it or not I’d rather take a cab:
-
They are sitting right there when I walk out the door of the airport or train station. No wait.
-
If I want to cruise around the restaurant/bar hotspot on my way to the hotel, they are happy to run the meter.
-
If you want to smoke and the driver says NO you just politely say no thank you, and grab the next cab in line.
-
I don’t need to be rated on how prefect I am at sitting and doing virtually nothing. I do it all the time at home, I have practice.
-
I have two ratings for my trip 1 - I didn’t get there or 5 - I got there. I don’t care if the driver is friendly, or has good conversation or drives 50 in a 35. It’s his ticket.
-
Taxis don’t need my full name, home address, credit card number, expiration date and three digit code just to give me a 5 mile ride. Just “name” at “Bar 1” going to “Bar 2”.
-
Cab driver usually know the city fairly well, Ride shares know how to use Waze.
-
Other things too but it’s 10 and I’m ordering DoorDash! Lol
