Question about Mephistopheles *Possible Spoilers?*
Can I "save" certain NPC's like Freke for example, by waiting to free him from his cell, until after doing Mephistopheles' hitlist? Or will she insist I bring him back to the nexus and kill him before moving on to the next person? I already messed up one attempt at getting the Foe's ring by only wanting to kill one NPC, only to realize I had to do them in order lol.

Sadly not. As long as Freke is alive, no matter where, she won't progress to the next hit.
I'd recommend just waiting until you're ready to end the game then just go ham and murder everyone.
Dang, afraid of that. I will do that at the end of this next run for sure. IN ORDER, lol.
The only difficulty is if you want to kill Ostrava. If you progress his story he dies at the end, this won't count as you killing him so you'll have to get the reward elsewhere if you're after it.
She just skips him on the list though, since he's dead correct?
